These images of the framed up pine backs made from individual strips of thin pine glued and cramped and then inserted in the mortice and tennoned frame work.  In the top one a slight shrinkage crack has developed and the accumulation of wax polish, which built up, can be seen which gives a natural and hand-made finish to the pine joinery; Simon Spencer designed.
