See some of my commissioned designs and a “guide” cost from which you may budget for my work.

  I realize that these designs can be “cribbed” and copies manufactured directly from them.  You (and particularly students) are welcome to print them off. I am pleased to be able to share my years of industry with you.  However, if you are committed to a  project, whether you are a private individual or a developer then my creative experience will help you to get it right.  I am sure you will find that it will be a sound investment to employ me to design for you.

In some cases the customer has used my designs to tender for a suitable manufacturer, in others I have helped to source a joinery firm. I may be able to help you if you are not able to use your own builders or manufacturer.

 As a rough guide each of my designs will cost about 10% of the manufacturing cost or £250.00, whichever is the greater; to which is added the cost of my travel,  parking etc. (please also see my terms and conditions).

My design charge for a run of bedroom furniture, Wardrobes and Bookcases, would be about £350.00.  The minimalist style requires careful and experienced design if it is to balance and be finished clearnly.  There are no dimensions on this limited printout of my design.  But first do print off a copy of the PDF drawing below ref 3325.

My proposals for various bookcases incorporating CD / DVD and Filing drawers together with a further three small bookcases in these two rooms would cost you, for a similarly designed project, in the region of £860.00

The cost of designing the panelling for each room (they are in proportion so are spacious rooms) would be from about £2,500.00 per room (with rather more for the Library as it included the pair of bookcases).  With my completed and detailed design drawings any competent joinery workshop can manufacture in your chosen materials.  These designs were for construction in MDF for painting but it could as easily (but more expensively) be made in solid or veneered timber for polishing.

The cost of designing this Minimalist style “floating” shelving  with concealed under-shelf lighting and central TV  console would be in the order of £700.00. There is a detailed dimensioned design drawing showing my concept in arriving at the shelf arrangements. Advices on suitable TV and electrical equipment would be given by the client.

The cost of designing the classically styled bookcase to take a central TV on a rising lift would be from about £1,000.00 with another £600.00 to  design a pair of new doors with classical surround, cornice and pediment in sympathy with the bookcase.  The two designs are best printed in “portrait view” on a laser printer when they will print in good detail and then rotated to look at them afterwards.

My design charge for a Wardrobe and chest with storage baskets and drawers built under the mansard of a top floor bedroom which required careful angle and dimensional measurements to maximize space would be about £650.00; your own study of the drawings will show the problems of shoe sizes, basket dimensions, hanging lengths and shoulder widths, drawer depths and top and bottom storage problems with the reduction in top space owing to the slope of the roof  all done to customers specific requirements.  In this particular case is have intentionally omitted the dimensions - it was a difficult and exhausting three dimensional puzzle - try it!!

My design charge for a Desk for an electrical organ with splayed lower cupboards for speakers and square upper section for drawers designed to clients specifications to take control equipment in false drawer fronted sliding shelf (left side) and sheet music on the right side with fine gauze fronted doors, down lighters on book fronts etc etc. was £650.00; careful inspection of the drawings will show the problems solved!  In this case I have left all dimensions intact for you to puzzle through (with few notes!)

My design charge for a Bookcase in both Alcoves and Across the Chimney Breast for TV designed to clients specifications to take into account the two sofas and DVD and CD drawers to clear the cupboard doors was £650.00; the drawings show the problems of designing the two side bookcases and spanning the chimney breast without intruding into the room and at the same time carrying a minimalist style with wide, vertical pilasters and bookcase surround. I have again left all main dimensions intact for you to follow (and with few notes!)
